British YouTuber Yung Filly has appeared in court facing allegations of raping and choking a woman in his Perth hotel room following a performance, according to Australian media reports.
The 29-year-old, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday and extradited to Perth the following day.
The charges stem from an alleged incident on 28 September, after the rapper and BBC presenter performed at a venue in Hillarys, a northern suburb of Perth. He is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in his hotel room.
Western Australia Police said in a statement, “This investigation is ongoing, and Sex Assault Squad detectives urge anyone with information related to this case or similar incidents to contact Crime Stoppers.”
Yung Filly appeared in Perth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, facing four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing by applying pressure to their neck.
The case was adjourned, and he was released on conditional bail, with restrictions preventing him from contacting the alleged victim or discussing the case on social media, as reported by ABC.
The rapper, who is currently on tour in Australia, attended court in a grey jumper and only spoke to confirm his identity. Fans of the star were reportedly present in the courtroom.
